Trois-Ponts takes its name from the confluence of three rivers there: the Amblève, the Salm, and the Bâleur. This necessitated the construction of three bridges just a few meters apart. However, the story doesn't end there! Trois-Ponts actually boasts around twenty bridges, each offering a unique perspective on this charming little town in the Ardennes. The Ardenne Résidences team invites you to explore this remarkable community!
The area around Trois-Ponts is above all synonymous with walking, hiking and cycling!
There are many walks starting from and around the city:

This route will take you to the heights above Trois-Ponts, offering breathtaking views of the region: the Salm Valley, the lower Coo basin, and the village of Brume…
This route, consisting of two 25-kilometer loops, can be explored by car or on foot for the more adventurous. Follow the "Route des panoramas" (Panorama Route) signs adorned with a donkey and discover the villages that make up the municipality of Trois-Ponts: Basse-Bodeux, Logbiermé, Mont-Saint-Jacques, Wanne… On one of the loops, you can admire the Faix du Diable, a geological curiosity that has given rise to many local legends.
This long route connects Malmedy to Saint-Jacques de Compostela! Its path follows ancient Gallic and Roman communication routes and owes its name to the goddess Arduinna, protector of the Ardennes among the first Belgian peoples.
Near Trois-Ponts lies the Étang du Bâleur : this artificial pond has been restored to protect its flora and fauna. And it's a success: two families of beavers have made it their home! A floating platform has been installed for observing the waterway and the surrounding wildlife.
On the edge of the town center, you can't miss the Leroux Tower . This 16-meter-high tower offers a magnificent panoramic view of the Salm Valley and the surrounding villages. A loop trail of approximately 5-6 kilometers completes the route past the tower. Be prepared for a bit of a climb, but it's well worth the effort!

In winter, when the snow is there, head to Val de Wanne! It's the longest downhill ski run in Belgium ! You can rent cross-country or downhill ski equipment there, and then refuel with one of the many dishes in the restaurant area.

Nearby in Lierneux, discover Brasserie de la Lienne , a craft microbrewery founded in 2013 in a former farmhouse. Since then, no fewer than four different beers have been created: blondes, browns, Porter…
The Trois-Ponts region is also home to the Phoenix Distillery (formerly Dr. Clyde Distillery), a distillery employing traditional and artisanal methods – everything (or almost everything!) is done by hand, without machines! Absinthe, whisky, rum, gin, or pastis – you can discover 100% Ardennes spirits there!
Trois-Ponts hosts a weekly market every Friday morning. It's a great opportunity to stock up on local specialties.

Trois-Ponts will also delight culture and history enthusiasts. Its town center, in particular, modest in size, is brimming with treasures to discover! Besides the many small bridges you'll encounter during your visit, you can admire the charming little church of Saint-Remacle , dedicated to this saint who is very popular in the Ardennes. An intriguing detail: it has no bell tower, perhaps due to a disagreement between a donor and the priest!
As in many places in the Ardennes, you'll also find remnants of the Second World War, notably a bunker from the Devèze Line located near the town center. This small bunker is part of a chain of bunkers and fortifications built between 1933 and 1935 in anticipation of a German attack. A little further on, the Château du Petit-Spay tells a story marked by conflict: a refuge for the children of prisoners of war, it was besieged by the German army and then accidentally attacked by the Allies. Fortunately, they survived. Today, you can still admire these ruins, rich in the region's complex history. If you're a history enthusiast, don't miss the Remembrance Trail, which you can explore by car or motorcycle through important sites from the First and Second World Wars.
The Wanne Museum (or High Ardennes Museum) is a small museum that immerses you in the daily life of the Ardennes and Wallonia in the 20th century: period objects, demonstrations of rural trades, temporary exhibitions… The Wanne Museum also offers a unique experience: here, no objects gather dust behind glass cases! Everything can be handled, touched, and examined… During the summer, the Museum organizes old-fashioned dictation exercises. Why not take this opportunity to test your grammar skills in a retro atmosphere?
In spring, don't miss the Trois-Ponts carnival : small in size, it is rich in emotions and events!

It's a kind of modern treasure hunt: you have to find small caches or objects scattered throughout nature or towns using a GPS signal. This activity lets you discover the region from a different perspective!
For children, booklets sold by the Tourist Information Centre offer fun walks alongside Louis de Castor . On the program: simple crafts and treasure hunts!
