Discovering the smallest city in the world

Welcome to Durbuy

Durbuy, located about fifty kilometers south of Liège, is one of the most popular tourist resorts in the Ardennes.

Recognized as the smallest city in the world, Durbuy lies on the banks of the Ourthe River, at the gateway to the Ardennes. Thanks to its wide selection of renowned restaurants, charming terraces, and delightful shops, it attracts a diverse clientele. Durbuy was known as a "Ville" (city) as early as the Middle Ages. Visitors today stroll through a place that preserves numerous traces of the past, with ancient houses and a castle perched atop a rocky outcrop along the Ourthe.

Several events are held in the town center, notably the famous Christmas market in December. Durbuy also offers numerous opportunities for walks, kayaking down the Ourthe River, mountain biking, or exploring the forests on horseback. Various adventure sports are also available throughout the region, for example, departing from Bomal or Barvaux.

Not necessarily a sports and adventure fanatic? Then risk a stroll along the valleys of the Ourthe and the Aisne.

There are a few interesting sights to see in the area, such as the 1001 Nights caves in Hotton, the dolmens and menhirs in Wéris or the fortified castle of Logne.
