A holiday home by the water goes hand in hand with a natural setting and all the benefits that come with it. You can observe a whole host of aquatic wildlife in action, which will certainly delight children, while enjoying moments of pure tranquility and a picture-perfect, multicolored landscape that will awaken all five senses. All this without even leaving your waterside holiday home, or almost!
During the warmer months, what a pleasure it is to enhance your stay in a holiday home in the Ardennes with all sorts of water activities. Embark on a kayak trip, try your hand at fishing , or even, in certain designated areas, put on your swimsuit and take a dip! Or, more simply, opt for a leisurely stroll along the water (perhaps with a stone-skipping competition?) or even a relaxing nap by a pond.

Frequently Asked Questions
It depends. Some holiday homes have their own water feature (pond, swimming pool) or a stream may run directly through the property.
In other cases, the accommodation is located along or in very close proximity to a public body of water (such as a river, stream, etc.).
A body of water where swimming is permitted will almost certainly display a special sign indicating this. If in doubt, check with the local tourist office near your holiday home. This might also be an opportunity to discover other swimming spots you hadn't considered!
Fishing in Belgium is strictly regulated. Each fish species has a specific authorized fishing season throughout the year. It's also possible that all types of fishing may be strictly prohibited during certain periods, for example, in waters of high ecological value. In short, be sure to check with the relevant fishing organizations or the nearest tourist information center before taking out your fishing rod (and your permit!).
