Welcome to Florennes

Located in the heart of the Namur Condroz region, Florennes is a municipality that blends rich heritage with the rolling landscapes typical of the area. Its natural setting and numerous trails make it an ideal starting point for exploring the Namur countryside.

Florennes is best known for its military air base, one of the largest in Belgium, which has housed fighter squadrons for several decades and regularly hosts renowned air shows.

The town centre reveals a varied heritage, including castles, old houses and religious buildings, notably the Saint-Gangulphe collegiate church, which is listed and visible from afar.

The surrounding area is full of walks and cycle-touring routes, crossing the valleys and surrounding forests, between Florennes, Mettet and Doische.

Between history, nature and culture, Florennes reflects the balance of the Condroz: a vibrant countryside, marked by local dynamism and the diversity of its heritage.
