This 34km mountain bike loop offers a particularly hilly route around the Ourthe Valley. The trail alternates between forest tracks, steep climbs, fast descents, and long stretches along the river . Several sections feature double-digit gradients, while the Ourthe Valley sections provide smoother, more rolling terrain for recovery.
The route starts in Villers-aux-Tours and quickly joins several forest paths. Two small streams accompany this first part before arriving in Mont , then descending towards Comblain-au-Pont .
At Comblain-au-Pont, the route rejoins the Ourthe , which becomes one of the guiding threads of the journey. You follow it towards Comblain-la-Tour , with several places suitable for a break or a picnic along the river.
The route then climbs again via a series of paths, notably towards the Oneux area . The climbs there are sometimes steep, including the Hoyemont Climb , which is 2.51 km long with an average gradient of 4.4%.
Before reaching Rivage , the trail passes near Les Tartines and the Grotte des Tartines , as well as several other caves carved into the limestone terrain of the valley. After Rivage, the route climbs again towards Fraiture , with a particularly challenging section through the forest.
You then reach Chanxhe , where a marked descent leads back to the Ourthe river. The route then follows the river to Poulseur , on a significantly easier section.
The final section leaves the valley again and climbs higher. After another passage near a stream, several paths gradually lead back towards Villers-aux-Tours.
