In 1986 , a few farmers joined forces to sell organic products directly. Four years later, they began producing their own cheese using milk from their own farms . This is how La Fermière de Méan was born, a cooperative involving both producers and consumers .

Today, the shop offers around twenty cheeses , ranging from fresh, additive-free curds to soft and pressed cheeses . Brusy , a creamy cheese in the style of Reblochon, which has won several awards in Libramont , is ideal for hot dishes , while Charmoix , with its stronger flavor, is perfect for tartiflette . Cabricharme goat cheese is a customer favorite, and for lovers of strong cheeses , Li Vi Cinsy , aged for six months and awarded a prize at the Harzée cheese competition , is a must-try.

Fermière de Méan cheeses are available at various points of sale . For the curious and the gourmets, the Cheese Route Festival , held every year on the third Sunday of September in Maffe-Gros Chêne , is the perfect opportunity to meet the producers and taste their creations !
